Taking all the precautions, OKOndt GROUP resumed training and educational seminars at the customer’s site. 3-7 August, our specialists were on a business trip to Turkey — they carried out the training for Bursa Ray company’s staff on how to use the double rail ultrasonic flaw detector UDS2-73 that is intended for ultrasonic rail testing.

Turkish company purchased this NDT equipment several months ago. As our company strives to assure the customers with all available means for easy learning of a purchased equipment’s operation, a detailed manual and educational materials are included in each supply kit of the equipment. Moreover, after receipt of the ultrasonic trolley by the customer, several conferences in online mode with OKOndt technical specialist were arranged.

It goes without saying that an on-site training on real rails, with a possibility to observe how an experienced professional operates the equipment, and to whom instant questions may be asked and discussed with, - is the most effective method to go into the matter of operation of the flaw detection equipment and learn to use all its functional capabilities. That is why it was decided to hold an on-site training, and a training program was compiled including both theoretical and practical parts. Practice envisaged on-hands experience of use of the ultrasonic flaw detector UDS2-73 not only during the daytime, but also in the night.

The specialists of our company have a huge experience in conducting educational seminars on  ultrasonic rail flaw detection, so the business trip to Turkey was a success. During practical lessons, the defects on the rail head running surface and in the rail welded joints were revealed, so the customer’s specialists came to an idea of necessity to test this section of the rail track as well. OKOndt has a kit for the rail welds testing—USR-01 consisting of a scanner and a portable ultrasonic flaw detector Sonocon B. Our Turkish partners shown interest to this testing equipment and plan to purchase it in the nearest future.
